Company Update - June 2019

We are pleased to advise that the company’s trading name has been restored to E.L. & C. Baillieu Limited with effect from 17 June 2019.

We began providing financial services to clients from our Melbourne Head Office in 1889.  Over recent years we have significantly expanded and today we have more than 190 staff across eight offices throughout Australia.

To accommodate our growing team, our Melbourne office relocated to Level 22, 35 Collins Street on 17 June.

Although our name has changed there will not be any operational changes to the business and your existing contractual arrangements with the company and your current adviser will remain unchanged.  If you have any questions please contact your adviser.

We thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to welcoming you to our new Melbourne Office.

Our Approach

AI. Blockchain. 5G. These are some of the buzz words of today. The question remains, will they become the next big thing? Or just another one hit wonder?

As one of Australia’s oldest financial advisory firms, we’ve seen it all before. And as a result, we can draw on our experience and understanding of the past to help navigate through the maelstrom of today. We devote significant resources to our in-house team of analysts and strategists to uncover insights and opportunities for our clients across all asset classes and security types. We also believe it is important to help educate investors, which is why we have developed a separate Investor Education section ‘Engage’ on our website.

Research Overview

EL&C Baillieu’s Research offering combines the strength of our Chief Investment Officer, in-house research team and the highly-credentialed Credit Suisse analysts.

Our CIO provides global strategic market insights, macroeconomic analysis, asset allocation and risk management strategies. He also chairs the investment committee which oversees our Model Portfolio offering.

Our stock analysts focus on identifying companies that create wealth for shareholders over the long term. Importantly, we seek to identify companies that have an ability to generate high returns on invested capital. Other important considerations are financial strength, management capability, ownership in the business and a track record of growth in sales, earnings and dividends.
